NO one!

Dear Jesus,

I read a scripture  today that is resonating in my heart and mind.

"No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life.  As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you."  Joshua 1:5 NIV

The words no one keep repeating in my heart.  NO ONE.  I understand it doesn't mean that no one will ever come against me again, just that I don't have to feel the giants are going to win.  The Creator of all things is on MY side!  Like David, if all I am armed with is a rock and my God, the rock is inconsequential, an unnecessary weapon.

It wasn't so much the rock that slew Goliath as much as the presence of God in David's heart and life!  His faith in the truth kept him from being afraid.  It was what made him run forward towards the enemy, lest the enemy make any more progress in David's life or his words cut David down.  I too must run immediately towards that enemy, with such haste that I don't have time to even feel fear!  My God is beside me always!

I understand that I need to remember that You promised that you will be here for me like You were with Moses All the Days of My Life!!  Never leaving me or forsaking me.  Jesus, You are my shield, my faith, my hope, my desire and my love.  I will never be without You.  NO ONE can stand up against me ALL the days of my life!  You are with me.  I adore You and I thank You for loving me!  Amen.

Dear Reader, take heart when troubles are smothering you.  The bills, the children, your health, your relationships.  Our God is a strong and mighty God!  His wish is for you to come to Him and believe and trust in Him, and He will always, always, take care of you.  When you feel you just can't make it anymore, that the road is too rough and the day too long, remember, He will bring someone to hold your hands up so that His glory will be seen!  Hallelujah!  Give your praises to God for His love and mercy!

"And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.  But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.   So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword."  Exodus 17:11-13

  1. My Dear Deirdre,
Thank you for this timely word. I really needed to be reminded of this today. Sometimes things don't happen fast enough and other things happen too quickly. Today, I received the news that my favorite brother-in-law had passed away. It hurt deeply. Then I got your email and when I read that you had written a new blog posting, I went to it. to read what you have written, and it has been an encourager for me this evening. So thank you once again for your timely word. Sometimes I forget that we must run to the goliaths in our lives and not hide and run away from them. When we run to them, we won't be defeated because one person with God on their side can slay thousands.

I needed to be reminded of this.

    Take care.
    Shalom,
    Pat

  2. Dear Pat,
I am so deeply sorry for the loss that you feel at this time. My heart goes out to you and your family. Remember that Jesus also wept when He lost His own best friend. It is alright to cry, to sorrowfully grieve the passing of a loved one. Our Lord is taking your hand and reminding you that He is still here, strong and mighty, and His holy shoulder is a comforting place to lay your head and weep. His love for you, that wonderful joyful love will never die, it will only get stronger and stronger as you move forward. I love you and cherish knowing you, Pat. I truly hope that we meet one day on this side of Heaven! Deirdre

  3. Hi Deirdre, I didn't realize your website was on your e-mail page. I never got a notice for this but it was just the right day to come and read it as my soul is so depressed and distressed by the lack of figuring out how to kill the lyme disease with out bleeding out since every drug interacts with the other and it's tricky and dangerous to play with the blood thiner's interactions. Yet if I don't the lyme will slowly take away my essence, who and what I am--a slow death. So I am asking God to guide me in making the right decisions. He must have missed my last request because I screwed up badly and my blood went dangerously thin-but then thanks to God's speaking to me, I figured out why at least and how to get around it--maybe.

Thanks for being right where I need you--when I need you--which is always.

    Love, Micki

    1. Dear Micki, God has a way of making the path straight by the people He places in our lives. Remember, some may be angels! Love you!

  4. If God is for us who can be against us? (Romans 8:31) Earlier in that same chapter, we are told that NOTHING can separate us from the love of God: not attacks from the enemy, not illness, not even our own sin thanks to His amazing Grace. He continues to be FOR us. To continually feel the overwhelming force of His moment-to-moment grace, we need only focus on Him and surrender to His grace rather than our desires. The deeper we meditate on His amazing truths, the more fathomless they appear. God Bess Ya, Lady!

    1. Dear Greta, how very wonderful for you to stop by! Thank you for the reminder that we only need to sit back and seek His face and adore Him for Who He is. His grace is for us, His mercy is for us, and we who deserve neither are so blessed by His love, which will never end or diminish. We serve an awesome God! Hugs to you, Greta, Deirdre
